Professor of Mathematics, Northeastern University since 1992 (tenured 7/1993); previously Associate Professor, Northeastern University (1989-1992); Visiting Professor, York University, Toronto (Fall 1995); Assistant Professor (visiting), Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge (1987-1989); Privatdozent, University of Dortmund (1985-1987); Assistant Professor (visiting), University of Washington, Seattle (1983-1984); Wissenschaftlicher Assistent, University of Dortmund (1984-1985 and 1978-1983).  Advisor and co-advisor for 4 PhD students (currently advising 5 PhD students).

Research fields

Combinatorial and discrete geometry; combinatorics; group theory; and graph theory.  Main interest: discrete structures in geometry and combinatorics, such as polytopes, maps, complexes, graphs, and tessellations, and their symmetries.
